Table of contents
It’s a beautiful island destination, it’s a tourist hub with buzzing travelers from all over the world, it’s an archipelago of over 300 islands, offering a myriad of activities to do; yet one of the most offbeat and interesting activities to indulge in Andaman has been the Andaman Marathon, organized every year during the month of February. And this year, the most testing run is back with its 2018 instalment and is ready to kickstart in 6 days!
They say being fit is one of the toughest goals to achieve when it comes to human body and discipline and one such sport that really tests your fitness is the marathon. With the Andaman Marathon scheduled for February 18th, 2018, you will be covering a distance of 20km. Organized by the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year’s marathon is organized to portray the beautiful archipelago of Andaman islands as a green and clean destination and put it in the forefront of the global tourism scene. Honorable Lt. Governor Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM (Param Vishisht Seva Medal), AVSM (Ati Vishisht Seva Medal), YSM (Yudh Seva Medal), NM (Nausena Medal), VSM (Vishisht Seva Medal) (Retired) will flag this year’s marathon.
